In today’s competitive academic environment, Mathematics remains one of the most challenging subjects for students pursuing international curricula such as IBDP and IGCSE. Addressing this challenge, Pune-based educator Ankit has launched IB-IGCSE Mentor, an online platform dedicated to simplifying Maths through a concept-first approach.
With over 12 years of teaching experience across CBSE, MYP, IGCSE, and IBDP curricula, Ankit has worked closely with students to identify a recurring problem—many struggle in Mathematics not due to lack of effort, but due to weak conceptual understanding.
Addressing a Core Challenge in Maths Education
Mathematics in MYP, IBDP and IGCSE is heavily application-based, requiring students to think critically rather than rely on memorised steps.
“In Maths, students often know the method but don’t understand the logic behind it. That’s exactly why they struggle when the question changes slightly,” said Ankit, Founder of IB-IGCSE Mentor.
IB-IGCSE Mentor focuses on eliminating this gap by breaking down every problem to its core concept, helping students build clarity and confidence.
A Concept-Driven Approach to Maths Mastery
The platform stands out through:
- Deep focus on conceptual clarity in Mathematics
- Step-by-step breakdown of complex problems
- Practice with real IB & IGCSE exam-style questions
- Small batch sizes and personalised mentoring
- Structured resources designed specifically for Maths improvement
This methodology enables students to approach unfamiliar questions with confidence—an essential skill for success in international board exams.
Expanding Reach Beyond Pune
Operating from Pune, Ankit has leveraged digital platforms like Instagram and online classes to teach students across different countries.
His Maths-focused content, especially problem-solving videos, has helped thousands of students simplify difficult topics and improve their performance in exams.
Vision for the Future
Ankit plans to scale IB-IGCSE Mentor into a global Maths learning platform by onboarding expert educators and expanding structured programs.
“The aim is to make Mathematics simpler and more intuitive for every IB and IGCSE student, no matter where they are,” he added.
