Meet Vihaan Raul: The 10-Year-Old Turning Travel Into Wildlife Education

Puneet Yadav July 22, 2026 · 3 min read

For this young explorer, every journey begins not with an itinerary, but with a question.

By Editorial Desk

“Some children return from a holiday with souvenirs. Vihaan returns with stories, sketches and a head full of questions about the natural world.”

A Journey Guided by Curiosity

On most family holidays, children race toward swimming pools or play areas. Ten-year-old Vihaan Raul is usually drawn somewhere entirely different: a wildlife information board, an aquarium exhibit, a nature trail or a ranger explaining the behaviour of an unfamiliar species. Before long, questions begin to flow. Why do elephants remain together in herds? How do marine animals adapt to life beneath the surface? What makes one rainforest different from another?

For Vihaan, travel has never been about simply visiting new places. It has become a way of understanding the world. Every destination offers another opportunity to observe, learn and discover stories that many travellers quietly walk past. That mindset has gradually shaped a childhood defined by curiosity rather than checklists.

Where a Love for Wildlife Began

Among all animals, elephants captured his imagination first. Their intelligence, remarkable memory and strong family bonds encouraged him to read more, watch documentaries and ask deeper questions. Over time, this fascination became the gateway to a much broader appreciation of wildlife and conservation.

Today, his interests extend far beyond elephants to marine life, forests, birds and ecosystems. Rather than memorising facts, he enjoys understanding how animals behave, how habitats support biodiversity and why conservation matters for future generations.

When Travel Becomes a Classroom

Family journeys have strengthened that curiosity. Experiences such as travelling with Singapore Airlines, exploring Changi Airport and staying at renowned hospitality brands including Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, St. Regis and Taj Hotels have introduced him to different cultures and destinations. Yet the memories that remain strongest are often wildlife safaris, aquariums and encounters with nature.

Instead of viewing travel as luxury alone, Vihaan sees every destination as another classroom. The hotel becomes the starting point, while the surrounding wildlife, local stories and natural landscapes become the real lesson.

Stories Inspired by Exploration

Through his YouTube channel, Tales & Tails, Vihaan shares stories inspired by wildlife, travel and imagination. His Instagram page, Vihzy Vibes, complements those experiences through photographs and reflections that encourage children and families to look beyond sightseeing.

Drawing is equally important to his journey. Animals frequently appear in his sketchbook, transforming observations into creative expression. Together, storytelling, travel and art allow him to preserve experiences long after each journey ends.

Looking Towards Vihaan’s WildQuest™

As his interests continue to evolve, so does a broader vision called Vihaan’s WildQuest™—a future platform centred on wildlife, educational travel, creativity and storytelling. The aspiration is to encourage children to explore with curiosity, respect nature and understand that every journey can become an opportunity to learn.

In an age where travel is often measured through photographs and numbers, Vihaan’s story offers a quieter reminder: the most meaningful souvenir is not something we bring home in a suitcase, but the questions we continue asking long after the journey has ended.
