Swati Singh, a Gurgaon-based environmentalist, graphic designer, and founder of Color Code Foundation, has redefined purpose in her 50s by turning personal grief into a mission of sustainability. Her initiative, Dakshleela, is a tribute to her late son and a powerful reminder that healing can become a force for change.
Born on December 1, 1973, in Delhi, Swati was raised in a progressive family where her father’s telecom job led them across cities like Ambala Cantt, Jabalpur, and Jammu. A bold and spirited young girl, she often rode her elder brother’s Yamaha RX100 to college — a rare sight in those days. She pursued a five-year degree in Commercial Art from Jabalpur and later completed a postgraduate diploma in Business Management in Jammu.
After her marriage in 1999, she moved to Bhopal where her elder son, Dhruv, was born in 2001. The family later shifted to Delhi, and in 2008, she welcomed her younger son, Daksh. Life settled in Charmwood Village, Faridabad, where in 2015 she launched Color Code Creations, her own graphic design studio. A couple of years later, the family moved to Gurgaon and she shut down her studio to focus on community work — starting by teaching the children of domestic workers in her parking area.
This small act laid the foundation for her deeper purpose. Swati began working on environmental issues, organizing campaigns for plastic-free living, promoting cloth bags, steel bottles, and home composting.
Decor Bank is an eco-conscious initiative under the Color Code Foundation that promotes sustainability by encouraging the reuse and recycling of decorative items. Instead of buying new plastic-based decor for every event, individuals and organizations can borrow eco-friendly decorations like buntings, cloth hangings, and lights from the Decor Bank. After use, these items are returned, cleaned, and reused—reducing waste and promoting conscious celebration. People can also donate unused decor items, contributing to a culture of sharing and sustainability.
Over time, she became a passionate trainer in bio enzymes, teaching people how to turn kitchen waste into powerful, chemical-free cleaning agents.
In 2024, Swati faced an unimaginable loss — the passing of her younger son, Daksh. This tragedy shifted something deep within her. Channeling her grief into purpose, she launched Dakshleela — a movement named after him, focused on sustainable living, natural plant based products, and empowering others to find meaning through mindful action.
She has conducted workshops across cities including Bikaner, Chandigarh, Palampur, and Delhi, trained schools and institutions like Navodaya Vidyalaya and the NCB, and works closely with the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon as their Brand Ambassador.
She also serves as the National Vice President of the Bio Enzymes Council, WICCI (Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and is a proud member of the Bio Enzyme Entrepreneurs Academy, where she collaborates with like-minded individuals to promote natural cleaning alternatives and waste management solutions.
A saree lover and bike enthusiast, Swati adds her personal flair to everything she does — often combining tradition with purpose. Her Instagram handle, @socialbliss99, is a vibrant space where she shares glimpses of her sustainable lifestyle, eco tips, and graceful style.
“You don’t have to wait for a perfect moment — sometimes, pain gives you the push to create something truly meaningful,” says Swati.
In memory of her son, she adds:
“Every drop of Dakshleela carries his name, his innocence, and now, his legacy.”
