A BIM consultant by profession, Gaurav is also a musician, cyclist, runner, entrepreneur, and café owner—demonstrating that dedication and passion can create a life filled with diverse achievements.
A Global Engineering Professional
Professionally, Gaurav Vashistha is a Building Information Modeling (BIM) Consultant currently working in Singapore. BIM is a digital approach to designing and managing building systems, particularly the essential services that make modern buildings functional. While architects design the structure of buildings, BIM professionals like Gaurav ensure that critical systems such as HVAC, electrical networks, plumbing, and fire protection work seamlessly together.
As a mechanical engineer, Gaurav specializes in designing these complex systems for large-scale infrastructure projects. Over the years, he has contributed to several prestigious global projects. Among the most notable are the Dubai Airport expansion and the Lusail Stadium in Qatar, the iconic venue where matches of the FIFA World Cup were held.
For Gaurav, seeing the Lusail Stadium come to life after years of dedicated work—and later being invited to watch a World Cup match there—remains one of the proudest moments of his professional career.
Music: A Lifelong Passion
Beyond engineering, music has always played a central role in Gaurav’s life. During his engineering studies, he developed a deep interest in learning the guitar. This passion led him to pursue a four-year Visharad degree in music from the Bhatkhande Music Institute in Lucknow, one of India’s prestigious classical music institutions.
Encouraged by his guru, Gaurav began teaching music and later decided to create his own platform. In 2021, he established GRV School of Music in Udaipur, where students can learn instruments such as guitar, keyboard, harmonium, and piano under one roof.
The institute welcomes students between the ages of 5 and 45, and over the past three years, Gaurav has taught more than 150 students in the city. His philosophy toward education is deeply rooted in inclusivity—one out of every ten students at the academy receives free music education if they cannot afford the fees.
Gaurav strongly believes that learning music requires foundational knowledge rather than just online tutorials. He emphasizes classical concepts such as Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, Ni, explaining their deeper meanings and the science of sound vibrations that form the basis of Indian classical music.
A Sustainable Culinary Venture
Another dimension of Gaurav’s entrepreneurial spirit is reflected in Auntea’s Kitchen – A Sustainable Café, located in Udaipur. The café is part of a larger initiative called Vashistha Organic Food Culture, which promotes locally grown, organic food.
The roots of this venture lie in his family. Gaurav’s mother, a former government teacher, started the café in 2019 after leaving her job to focus on family responsibilities. Recognizing its potential, Gaurav expanded the idea into a sustainable food initiative that emphasizes organic farming and locally sourced ingredients.
Together with his father, who is a farmer, the family began producing organic vegetables. As demand grew, the concept evolved into a full-fledged venture promoting healthy food choices and sustainable living.
Cycling and Marathon Achievements
Apart from engineering, music, and entrepreneurship, Gaurav has also made an impressive mark in endurance sports. A passionate cyclist and runner, he is a member of the Udaipur Cycling Club (UCC), a community that encourages people to adopt cycling as a daily lifestyle habit.
Through the club, Gaurav began cycling 30–40 kilometers regularly across the scenic villages around Udaipur. On weekends, he and fellow cyclists often undertake “century rides,” covering approximately 100 kilometers in a single day to destinations such as Nathdwara and Chittorgarh.
His most remarkable achievement came when he cycled 5,000 kilometers in just one month during a UCC event, earning him a 19th rank globally and placing him among the top cyclists in India.
Inspired by cycling, he also ventured into long-distance running. Recently, he completed a 21-kilometer half marathon at the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon, further proving his endurance and commitment to fitness.
Gaurav believes cycling significantly improves lung capacity, strength, and overall physical performance—benefits that also support other sports activities.
Early Life and Education
Born and raised in Udaipur, Gaurav completed his schooling at Central Academy, Udaipur. He later pursued Mechanical Engineering at JECRC University, Jaipur, graduating in 2015.
His professional journey began in 2017 when he joined Pinnacle Infotech Solutions as a mechanical designer. Over time, his expertise and dedication helped him grow into the role of a BIM consultant working on major international projects.
Inspiration and Philosophy
Gaurav credits much of his inspiration to his father, a farmer who taught him resilience and optimism. He believes that fathers often carry immense responsibilities silently while ensuring their families remain happy and secure.
Reflecting on the COVID-19 period, Gaurav says it was a time when many people rediscovered their hidden talents. For him, it became an opportunity to pursue music more seriously and establish his academy.
Today, seeing his students perform on various platforms gives him immense satisfaction.

Despite managing multiple responsibilities—engineering projects, a music academy, a sustainable café, and athletic pursuits—Gaurav continues to balance them with remarkable dedication.
