THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a significant move to bridge the gap between traditional pedagogy and the rapidly evolving digital landscape, the second phase of the “AI for Teachers” training program was successfully conducted for the final-year B.Ed students at the University College of Teacher Education (KUCTE), Kariavattom. Organized under the aegis of the ‘Sreshta Sikshak Mission,’ the program was held at the Kariavattom campus, situated near the Government College on LNCPE Road.

The initiative is a strategic collaboration between Team Inspire and Srishti Innovative, aimed at modernizing teacher training and ensuring that the upcoming cohort of educators is proficient in handling 21st-century classroom challenges. The workshop focused on the practical integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in school environments, moving beyond theoretical understanding to offer hands-on exposure to cutting-edge educational technology.

During the sessions, the aspiring teachers were introduced to various AI-driven tools designed to streamline administrative tasks, personalize student learning paths, and create immersive educational content. The trainers emphasized that AI is not a replacement for human teachers but a powerful assistant that can enhance teaching efficiency and foster a more interactive learning atmosphere for students in the digital age.

The Sreshta Sikshak Mission, which translates to the ‘Mission for Noble Teachers,’ aims to cultivate educators who are not only subject matter experts but also digitally resilient leaders. Organizers noted that the enthusiasm shown by the students at the Kariavattom campus reflects a growing awareness of the need for technological adaptability in the education sector.

Following the success of the initial phases, the organizers have indicated plans to expand the reach of the mission to more teacher training institutes across the state. By empowering future educators with AI literacy today, the program aims to ensure that the classrooms of tomorrow are led by teachers who can confidently navigate and utilize the latest technological innovations to benefit the student community.
