From Overthinking to Understanding: How Friendly Overthinker Is Making Emotional Intelligence Wearable for India

Puneet Yadav November 2, 2026 · 4 min read

There is a quiet shift happening in the way India talks about feelings, and at the center of it stands Sabiha, founder of Friendly Overthinker, a Lucknow based emotional intelligence brand helping people understand themselves before they try to fix themselves.

Most people are simply told to stop overthinking. Sabiha asks a different question: “What is my overthinking actually trying to tell me?”

The Turning Point That Changed Everything

Friendly Overthinker did not begin as a business plan. It began as a thought in 2023: most people feel deeply, but very few are ever taught to understand what they feel.

In 2024, that thought found its voice through honest talking-head videos on emotional intelligence, relationships, self love and human behaviour, shared on Instagram and YouTube at @friendlyoverthinker. No lectures and no preaching, just one person talking to another the way a friend would. The videos gathered thousands of views, but what mattered more were the messages from people who said a video helped them finally name a feeling they had carried for years.

In June 2026, those conversations became something people could wear. Through friendlyoverthinker.com, the brand launched statement tees with prints like “I Am Emotionally Intelligent”, “I’m Done Explaining” and “Overthink with Intention”, giving people a way to express what they feel without saying a word.

“I started with T-shirts because almost everyone wears them, formally and informally,” Sabiha explains. “A tee lets you describe your emotion without having to explain it to anyone.”

What Is the Think. Feel. Heal. Philosophy?

At its core, Friendly Overthinker is built on one belief: emotions are not problems to be fixed, they are signals to be understood.

1. Think. Noticing your thoughts instead of drowning in them. Overthinking is not a flaw. It is a mind that cares deeply and needs intention rather than shame.

2. Feel. Naming what you feel without apology. “Name it to tame it,” Sabiha says. “Unless you name an emotion, you cannot understand it, and you cannot manage it. That is what emotional intelligence is all about.”

3. Heal. Turning awareness into action through better boundaries, healthier relationships and choices that protect your peace.

A Voice Built on Real Experience

Behind the brand are more than 14 years across fashion, media and advertising, from apparel manufacturing for labels like Armani and Calvin Klein to handling the Coca-Cola brand portfolio and working with IPG Mediabrands, JioSaavn and OLX India. Her degree in English Literature, Psychology and Economics from Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow, gave her an early lens on human behaviour.

Sabiha has also written several ebooks, including “Is This Love or a Game?” and “The Corporate Chanakya”, now on Amazon Kindle, and the apparel line has fulfilled over 200 orders across India. Yet the brand has never chased collaborations or influencer campaigns.

“I did not start Friendly Overthinker to become an influencer,” she says. “I started it because I wanted people to understand their own emotions and feelings. The purpose came first, and it always will.”

What Comes Next for Friendly Overthinker

Sabiha’s vision goes well beyond a T-shirt. Tees are only the first step of a long journey that will grow into more clothing over time, but the real goal is a community where people can sit together and talk openly about what they think and feel.

At the heart of that plan is the Friendly Overthinker Club, where members will design their own tees around their own thoughts. Friendly Overthinker will print them, the best designs will be showcased on friendlyoverthinker.com, and a share of every sale will go to the person who created the thought behind it.

“The whole idea is to get people talking about what they are actually feeling,” she says. “That is what brings people together.”

More ebooks on emotional intelligence and human behaviour are on the way, along with jerseys, joggers and gym wear. Gyms are a special focus. Many people, especially women, find it hard to decide what to wear to the gym, and Sabiha wants Friendly Overthinker available right inside gyms, so new members can pick up a couple of pieces there instead of hunting through malls for brands, shapes and sizes.

“Be relaxed in a simple fit,” she says. “That is where mental clarity begins.”

Through her content, her writing and her wearable line, Sabiha continues to build a space where overthinkers stop seeing themselves as broken and start seeing themselves as aware.

“When you finally understand what you feel,” she says, “you no longer need to hide it. You wear it with pride. Wear What You Feel.”
