When the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a standstill, the travel industry was one of the hardest hit sectors. Flights were grounded, tourism stopped completely, and thousands of travel professionals lost their jobs.

But for Aslam Baig, what looked like the end of a career became the beginning of an entrepreneurial journey. Today, his company Stagway Travels is steadily growing as a Pan-India travel service provider, offering car rentals, hotel bookings, and customized tour packages to travelers across the country.

A Career Disrupted by the Pandemic

After completing his MBA in Business Administration, Aslam Baig joined a car rental company to build his career in the travel industry. The job helped him gain practical experience in travel operations, customer handling, and transportation management.

However, just a year into the job, the COVID-19 lockdown changed everything. The travel industry shut down overnight and many companies had to lay off employees. Aslam Baig was among those affected.

The Birth of Stagway Travels
Instead of waiting for the industry to recover, Aslam Baig decided to create his own opportunity. In 2021, during one of the most challenging times for the travel sector, he founded Stagway Travels.

The company initially started as a small car rental service providing local rides, airport transfers, and outstation travel. Building the business during a pandemic was difficult, but with determination and a strong focus on customer satisfaction, the company slowly began gaining recognition.

Expanding Beyond Car Rentals
As customer demand increased, Aslam realized that travelers were looking for complete travel solutions. This led to the expansion of services beyond transportation.

● Hotel bookings across major destinations
● Customized domestic tour packages
● Family vacations and honeymoon trips
● Corporate travel services

Serving Corporate and International Clients

With time, Stagway Travels expanded its network of travel partners and vendors across India. Today the company provides travel services across the country, handling bookings for individuals, families, corporate events, multinational companies (MNCs), and even foreign clients visiting India.

Looking Ahead

As India’s travel industry continues to grow, Aslam Baig aims to further strengthen Stagway Travels’ presence across the country. His long-term vision is to build one of India’s most trusted travel brands known for reliable service, transparent pricing, and memorable travel experiences.

What started during the darkest period for the travel industry is now evolving into a promising travel brand — proving that even the toughest challenges can become the foundation for success.
