Surendranagar, Gujarat:

Every journey in agriculture carries a story of dedication, learning, and resilience. In recent years, a new generation of agripreneurs has begun reshaping the agricultural landscape by combining traditional knowledge with modern entrepreneurial thinking. Among them is Parth Kachiya, a young agripreneur from Gujarat whose journey reflects the evolving face of India’s agricultural sector.

Parth Kachiya’s story is rooted in a deep connection with agriculture and rural development. From the early stages of his academic life, he recognized that agriculture was not only about cultivation but also about innovation, value addition, and creating sustainable opportunities for farmers. His academic journey laid the foundation for a broader vision — to strengthen the agricultural value chain and empower farming communities through entrepreneurship.

As an alumnus of Anand Agricultural University, one of India’s leading institutions for agricultural education and research, Parth developed a strong understanding of agricultural systems, agribusiness management, and rural development. His education equipped him with both technical knowledge and a practical perspective on the challenges faced by farmers. Building upon this foundation, he is currently pursuing MBA (Agribusiness) at Ganpat University, further strengthening his understanding of agribusiness strategies and market-oriented agriculture.

Driven by the idea of creating value beyond the farm gate, Parth Kachiya established Prakrutvam Food Products Private Limited, where he serves as the Founder and Director. The company focuses on the processing and manufacturing of traditional Indian food products, particularly a variety of pickles prepared using natural ingredients and traditional recipes. What makes this initiative distinctive is its commitment to producing food without the use of chemical preservatives, reflecting a dedication to natural and authentic food processing.

Through the brand Prakrutvam, the enterprise aims to preserve traditional flavors while maintaining modern standards of quality and hygiene. By sourcing raw materials from farmers and emphasizing natural ingredients, the company contributes to value addition in agricultural produce. This approach not only provides consumers with healthier food options but also creates new economic opportunities for farmers involved in the supply chain.

“Agriculture should not remain limited to production alone. Through value addition and farmer collectives, we can create sustainable income opportunities for farmers and strengthen the rural economy.”

— Parth Kachiya

Alongside his entrepreneurial ventures, Parth Kachiya is actively engaged in strengthening farmer institutions. He serves as the Director of VLM Surendranagar SPNF Producer Company Limited, a Farmer Producer Organization dedicated to promoting natural farming practices. The organization works to encourage farmers to adopt sustainable agricultural methods that reduce dependency on chemical inputs while improving productivity and profitability.

Through collective action, farmer producer organizations play a crucial role in strengthening the bargaining power of farmers, improving access to markets, and promoting knowledge sharing among farming communities. Parth’s involvement in such initiatives reflects his belief that organized farmer collectives are essential for the long-term sustainability of agriculture in India.

Further expanding his engagement in the agri-processing sector, Parth Kachiya is also a Partner at AnnatvaAgro Industries, a newly established enterprise that is set to focus on the processing and manufacturing of a wide range of spices. The venture represents another step toward building a diversified agribusiness ecosystem that supports farmers and promotes value addition in agricultural commodities.

The upcoming initiative aims to promote high-quality spice processing while strengthening agricultural value chains and creating better market opportunities for farmers involved in spice cultivation. By emphasizing product purity, standardized processing, and market-oriented production, the venture reflects a forward-looking approach toward agribusiness development.

“Natural food processing and traditional recipes have immense potential in today’s market. By combining traditional knowledge with modern entrepreneurship, we can build sustainable agribusiness models.”

— Parth Kachiya

Parth Kachiya strongly believes that the future of Indian agriculture lies in innovation, sustainability, and farmer-centric enterprises. Natural food processing, farmer producer organizations, and value-added agricultural products can collectively transform rural economies and create new opportunities for young professionals entering the agricultural sector.

His journey illustrates how education, entrepreneurial vision, and commitment to rural development can come together to create meaningful change. By bridging the gap between agriculture and modern agribusiness practices, Parth continues to contribute to building a more resilient and sustainable agricultural ecosystem.

Looking ahead, Parth envisions expanding his efforts in food processing and agribusiness while continuing to support farmer collectives and sustainable farming practices. His work reflects the growing role of young agripreneurs in shaping the future of Indian agriculture.

In an era where agriculture faces both challenges and opportunities, stories like that of Parth Kachiya serve as reminders that innovation, perseverance, and collaboration can open new pathways for farmers and rural communities. His journey from an agriculture student to an agripreneur stands as an example of how passion for agriculture can evolve into initiatives that create lasting impact.
